Valerie Jarrett on Inspiring Change
At the On Board Chicago conference, the Obama Foundation CEO explored how to create new opportunities and embrace differences.
Valerie Jarrett on Inspiring ChangeIn September, the American Economic Association (AEA) released its final report on the professional climate of the field of economics.
In the report coauthored by Marianne Bertrand, the Rustandy Center’s faculty director and Chicago Booth’s Chris P. Dialynas Distinguished Service Professor of Economics, a survey of economists found that many in minority groups—based on gender, race, religion, etc.—reported experiencing discrimination at some point in their careers.
Bertrand served on the AEA’s Committee on Equity, Diversity and Professional Conduct, which issued the survey across its membership and summarized the results investigating bias and dissemination in the field of economics.
