Student Story: Patrick Yip
“I like Chicago Booth because of its reputation in being very technical. I’m a person who is very interested in the nuts and bolts.”

I had always wanted to do an MBA program, but I could only afford to do it part time. I was hoping that one day a top program would come to Hong Kong. When Booth announced that they would move to Hong Kong, I was very happy, and I looked into the program immediately, and I found all the right ingredients there for me.
Phil Berger (Booth faculty member): 00:40
Hong Kong has been a huge business center for a long time. It has a very entrepreneurial spirit. It's been a huge center of services, transportation, finance. More and more it's a gateway into mainland China. One thing that is unique about the Chicago Executive MBA is it's our Chicago faculty who do the teaching everywhere that we are in the world.
Tracy Loh (alumna): 01:17
Everyone in this program are fully employed, and so that makes the time management piece very critical. So whenever we have that one-week block, everyone's in the class, then everyone's engaged.
Patrick Yip: 01:31
One thing I like about the program is that I would be able to take one week out from a month and then focus my one week at the Booth campus to learn, study, and work with my colleagues and the professors, and then that's it. All the other time before my next week will be all mine.
Patrick Yip: 01:55
I actually got business opportunities out of my classmates because they appreciated my input and my ideas, and sometimes this kind of networking in fact would take me to not just within Hong Kong or China, but beyond—the Asia Pacific, Europe, and US, and some of them turned into actual business opportunities for myself and my firm. From this respect, my firm is actually quite happy that I'm doing this program.
Tracy Loh: 02:33
The Booth network is extremely diverse. There's a huge network wherever you go. You can count on the fact that if you come from a Booth program, someone will be willing to help you out, and I think that's the most amazing thing about being part of this alumni network.
