Mark Hennessy

Mark Hennessy, ’90, is a retired information technology executive who serves on the board of directors for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations.

For the past eight years, Hennessy has been a board member of Covenant House International, which serves over 50,000 homeless and trafficked youth in 27 cities throughout six countries. In that time, he has led several board activities, including strategic planning, program evaluation, and site expansion. Hennessy received Covenant House International’s Beacon of Hope award in 2014. He is also on the board of PDV Wireless, a wireless communications carrier and provider of network and mobile communications solutions.

Hennessy recently retired from IBM after a 30-year career. During his IBM tenure, he was general manager for several of IBM's businesses, such as the Asia Pacific Systems business based in Tokyo, IBM’s European business based in Zurich, and IBM's Global Distribution Sector based in IBM Corporate HQ. Hennessy has also held several IBM executive staff assignments, including global chief information officer and GM of strategy and sales transformation.

Hennessy has an undergraduate degree from Boston College and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
