Coronavirus Updates

The world was entering its second year of the pandemic when we started recruiting for the class of 2024. Despite the ongoing challenges that this situation created, we did our best to navigate through unpredictable times and remain committed to selecting a global cohort of analytical, collaborative, and bold leaders in the Executive MBA Program.

We’re thrilled to welcome our newest students to the Chicago Booth community—the class of 2024 is a diverse, talented, and fascinating collection of individuals who are not only high achievers but also dragon boat racers, adventure travelers, master LEGO builders, professional aerialists, creators, founders, and philanthropists.

When looking at the incoming class in terms of facts and figures, they are an impressive group of Boothies.

A Global Class

These 200 students hail from 47 different countries that include many “firsts”—we have our first citizen of El Salvador, our first resident of Bermuda, and our first student from Finland in a very long time. As they join their classmates from around the globe, there will no doubt be a transformative exchange of business perspectives (as well as a few fabulous travel ideas and group trips planned).

Diverse Backgrounds

This year’s EMBA class also represents more than 25 different industries, with the top five being technology, consulting, investment management/research, healthcare, and government/nonprofit/education. While our top five industries do not tend to shift much, the increased number of students who work in the government/nonprofit/education space is new this year. It’s encouraging to see professionals from less traditional industries choosing an MBA as the right vehicle for their careers.

Our mid- to senior-level students not only have a broad range of capabilities but they bring an average of 13 years of work experience and come equipped with years of leadership experience to share in the classroom. The breadth and range of our students make for a uniquely dynamic and exciting learning environment.

High Achievers

I would be remiss if I didn’t also mention the intellectual abilities of our global cohort. This class has an average Executive Assessment score of 155 and an impressive average GMAT score of 704. Not only are they bright, but they have a drive for academic achievement with nearly half of the students already earning an advanced degree.

High Achievers

I am sure there will be plenty of late-night debates that will transpire across the world for the next 22 months among these students. I am excited to watch them inspire each other to take risks, drive innovation, and transform organizations.

If you see yourself learning alongside high-achieving peers in a challenging, supportive and inspirational atmosphere, consider starting an application this year.
