Chicago Booth's Executive-in-Residence program is a flagship event where we invite senior Executives to share their knowledge and experience through candid conversations and small group advisory sessions throughout the afternoon.

As a participant you will have the opportunity to have formal meetings with up to 4 Executives-in-Residence.  The format is small groups (1-4 participants)  information / insight sharing and networking sessions. You will be able to express interest and prioritize up to 4 Executives you would like to meet.

 

Registration will open 9.00 a.m. HKT Monday 28 January. Express your interest and prioritize your choice of Executive by completing the registration survey below before Monday 11 of February. Registration will close at 9.00 a.m. HKT Monday 11th February.

Space is limited; completion of this survey does not guarantee participation. You will be notified of your participation status by Thursday, 14th February.

 

There will be networking, refreshments and drinks with the Executives after the small group session from 6.00 p.m. If you wish only to attend the networking drinks, please still complete the survey to register.

Franck Benhamou

Franck is a corporate executive turned entrepreneur; Founder or Co-Founder and promoter of various businesses, all connected with new technologies and the consumer goods industry. This includes Niche Networks Limited / CISLink Limited / Masterlens SL / LaboGroup SA / Vapor Communications Inc. / LV Private Equity Holdings.  

Franck has sold prior businesses to both investment funds and private investors, Franck’s early career included senior positions over 16 years at SC Johnson & Son, Inc. in marketing and general management across the world (USA, USSR, Spain, Ukraine, UK, Russia); his last position being Group General Manager - CIS. 

Franck holds a Masters in Chemical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology and an MBA from The University of Chicago School of Business. 

Franck is also the author of “Here´s an Idea”, published in 2011.

 

Wei Cai

Previously Wei Cai was Managing Director of FountainVest Partners. Wei has 20 years’ investment banking experience as Managing Director and Vice Chairman of Asia Investment Banking and Joint-Head of the China Investment Banking department at UBS. Prior to that as Managing Director and Head of Asia General Industrials Group, Morgan Stanley.

Wei has an LLB from Fudan University, Shanghai, an MA from The University of Chicago and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Pilar Dieter

Pilar serves as Chief Representative in Greater China and Managing Partner for Solidiance, Asia’s premier strategy consulting firm leading North Asian operations from their Shanghai office. She is recently relocated to the USA to lead the expansion of Solidiance in the USA.  Headquartered in Singapore with offices in China, Indonesia, India, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Lebanon, Thailand, U.A.E., Australia and Vietnam, Solidiance serves Fortune 1000 Global MNCs focused in 3 specific verticals: Industrial, Technology and Healthcare.

Pilar has served as an advisor to clients seeking process improvements and growth opportunities for the past 17 years. She has advised multinational companies such as BASF, Baxter, Parker Hannifin, Caterpillar, GE and Rockwell Automation.

Previously based in China for 12 years, with previous postings in Kuala Lumpur, the UK and across Asia Pacific, Pilar has worked with leading MNCs in expanding their global footprint in emerging markets through both supply chain initiatives as well as market expansion programs. Frequently sought out as a market expert on China and Asian related trade matters, Pilar is a frequent panelist and speaker at emerging markets and global trade conferences and widely published in various media including the Wall Street Journal, Shanghai Business Review, Shanghai Daily, China Economic Review, the Financial Times, the South China Morning Post and Supply Chain Quarterly.

Following her time at Accenture Consulting, she led Professional Services and Product Strategy divisions in the Silicon Valley. Pilar graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles, she holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and in 2013 served as a Governor on The American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai’s Board of Governors.

 Amit Gupta

Currently based in Singapore, Amit has been responsible for Sales Operations for Asia Pacific including Japan for Twitter Inc., EMEA and Director of Revenue Strategy and Operations.

Prior to joining Twitter Amit held several Senior Management and Global Head positions in Inmobi, a mobile engagement platform, in Marketing, Business Operations, Global Delivery and Brand Advertising in both Australia and India.

This move into technology and mobile followed Strategy roles in McKinsey, Merrill Lynch Investment Management and Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

Amit holds a BTech from both Delhi Public School and the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi as well as graduating from the full time MBA program of The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

 Chris Laskowski

Chris is the Head of Corporate and Investment Banking, Citi Hong Kong and also serves as the Head of Alternative Assets Group for Citi Asia Pacific. Chris has worked with Citi for over 20 years, primarily in Hong Kong where he currently works, but has also spent time in New York and Chicago.

In his dual role in Citi, he serves as;

  • Head of Hong Kong, Corporate and Investment Banking – where he manages a network of multinational organizations and total tier local corporates & financial institutions, tailoring a broad range of financial services from investment banking to corporate banking to trade services
  • Head of Alternative Assets, Asia Pacific – where he covers a client base that covers all of the major active pools of capital in Asia, including traditional global and local buyout funds, expansion capital-oriented funds, quasi-governmental investment organizations, leading hedge funds and venture capitalists with a product offering that includes M&A, IPOs, and equity and debt offerings.

He first came to Asia in 1999 and was previously an integral member of Citigroup’s Financial Institutions Investment Banking team in Chicago, New York and Hong Kong.  He also served as the Chief Operating Officer of Corporate & Investment Banking, Asia Pacific from 2010 to 2013.  

Mr. Laskowski holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

King transformed Datatrade from a traditional direct marketing agency to a multiple award winning technology and data intelligence driven marketing company with international presence in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Manila, as well as being part of a global CRM/digital agency network over 10 years.

King spun off the CRM business unit to become CLiX, an ‘Intelligence Driven Loyalty Marketing’ company, now also award winning.  

From an engineering and project management background, King spent 3 years with BearingPoint (now KPMG Consulting) before joining Booz & Co (now Strategy&) on graduating the part time MBA program.  

King has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Wisconsin and an MBA with Honours from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

 Giuseppe Pedretti

General Management / Operations / Supply Chain / Business Development / Strategic Planning / Oil&Gas / Consumer / Career Changer and Advancer

As the Petronas Lubricants Chief Commercial Officer, Giuseppe directs and drives the overall business strategy and performance of PLI’s business in Asia, including China, India, Philippines and Thailand, towards sustainable and value-driven growth. He is also responsible for leading PLI’s corporate and business relationships with key stakeholders in Asia.

Giuseppe began his career in PETRONAS Lubricants International in 2008 as General Manager for Mergers and Acquisitions and special projects, following which he was appointed as General Manager for Asia and the Middle East in March 2010.

In 1994, Giuseppe’s career began at Olivetti SpA where he held several positions including Head of Product Engineering, Plant Manager, Operations Director and Supply Chain Director. In 2003, he changed his career to Consultancy specializing in FMCG strategy. He became the Director of Globalpraxis SA, a well-known Spanish firm located in Barcelona. Giuseppe was overseeing several key projects including Coca-ColaIçecek in Istanbul, SAB Miller (Bavaria) in Colombia and Ecuador and CCWH, the largest Coca Cola bottler in Japan.

Giuseppe holds a Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering from Milan Polytechnic and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

After a 10-year tenure at Citibank in various marketing, sales and distribution roles Lorena moved to Barclays Bank managing Strategic Programs then as Head of Insurance. It was at this time she undertook her MBA at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business through the European Executive program. Shortly after graduating she was promoted to Head of Commercial Delivery.

More recently Lorena has been with HSBC, initially in London in senior Business Performance and Risk roles, now in Hong Kong where she was promoted in 2018 to hold the positions of Chief Risk and Administrations Officer as well Chief Administrative Officer.  

Lorena did her undergrad in Business Administration at UAD and a Masters in Finance at Universidad del CEMA (both in Brazil).

 Sarita Singh

After 7 years at Google Sarita joined Facebook in Singapore where she leads ASEAN teams responsible for SME advertising including sales, marketing, service and partnerships.

At Google as Head of Channel Sales and Operations for APAC, Sarita managed the 3rd party retail hardware channel sales and operations with ownership of both retail and operational strategy with key revenue and P&L accountabilities. Sarita also had extended responsibilities of forecasting, planning & replenishment, training & engagement. In her prior role of Head of Retail Operations, Sarita worked with device manufacturers, telecommunications carriers and large retailers across the region to bring Google's Android and Chrome devices to market. 

With over 18 years of experience in sales, channels, marketing and operations, Sarita has previously worked for multinationals including Hewlett Packard, Oracle Corporation and salesforce.com. Sarita has lived in Melbourne, Sydney, Shanghai and currently resides in Singapore, giving her deep experience in markets across Asia Pacific.  

Sarita holds a Bachelor of Business degree from RMIT University and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

 Joshua Teo

Joshua is the HR Director of Prudential Corporation Asia, responsible for strategic resourcing and projects. Graduating with his MBA in 2010, Joshua joined Egon Zehnder International, one of the leading C-suite Global Executive Search Consultancies, where he co-lead the Financial Services practice and lead the Human Resources practice in the region.  

Prior to and during his MBA Joshua held various roles with increasing responsibility in Standard Chartered Bank, rising from Strategy Associate, through Senior Manager Strategy and Performance Management, Head of Corporate and Channel Development to Managing Director, China. Joshua moved to Standard Chartered from Boston Consulting Group.  

Joshua is also one of the Founders of Starlearners in 2003, an education services provider in Singapore that specializes in Childhood education, and was on the Board of Directors from 2003 to 2015.  

Joshua holds a BA in Applied Economics from Nanyang Technological University, an MA in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis International Business School and an MBA with Honors from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. 

Haimeng Zhang

Haimeng is the Leader of the Organization Practice in Asia and Co-leader of Infrastructure and Public Sector Practice in China.  

With extensive experience in organization restructuring, leadership development, and culture change, long term partnerships with industry leaders in real estate, high tech, and advanced industry, Haimeng also specializes in top team effectiveness, Chairman/CEO counseling, and organization agility.

Haimeng also has extensive experience in real estate - residential, commercial, industrial and urban infrastructure, and having worked with more than 10 local governments on economic development, is a keen practitioner in sustainability and climate change.

Hiameng is also and experienced adviser to Chinese companies on overseas investment and cross border M&A.

Haimeng graduated with an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and is also a Co-Author: Serial Innovators (Chinese version), Leadership at Scale.
