Chicago Booth's Asia Executive-in-Residence program is a flagship event where we invite senior Executives to share their knowledge and experience through candid conversations and small group advisory sessions.

Registration is now open, we anticipate that registration will close at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, 5th March. Individuals who registered will be notified of their participation status by Thursday, 8th March. If you did not submit your bio/resume upon registration, please be prepared to send promptly upon confirmation of participation.

Franck is a corporate executive turned entrepreneur; Founder or Co-Founder and promoter of various businesses, all connected with new technologies and the consumer goods industry. This includes Niche Networks Limited / CISLink Limited / Masterlens SL / LaboGroup SA / Vapor Communications Inc. / LV Private Equity Holdings. 

Franck has sold prior businesses to both investment funds and private investors. 

Franck’s early career included senior positions over 16 years at SC Johnson & Son, Inc. in marketing and general management across the world (USA, USSR, Spain, Ukraine, UK, Russia); his last position being Group General Manager - CIS. 

Franck holds a Masters in Chemical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology and an MBA from The University of Chicago School of Business. 

Franck is also the author of “Here´s an Idea”, published in 2011.

Boon Sian has over his 10 years with Expedia since completing his MBA, demonstrated ever increasing responsibilities from Manager, Senior Manager and Director in Hong Kong and Shanghai where his current role in Market Management includes multiple teams across all of the major Asia markets.

Prior to joining Expedia, Chai was the COO of an IT startup company specializing in online human resource system and held corporate planning and ecommerce positions with SHC Capital Ltd in Singapore working on strategic planning, business development and sales and marketing.

Boon Sian studied Sports Science and Mathematics as an undergraduate at Loughborough University in England, and holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business undertaken through the Weekend program

Wei has 20 years investment banking experience previously as Managing Director and Vice Chairman of Asia Investment Banking and Joint-Head of the China Investment Banking department at UBS and prior to that as Managing Director and Head of Asia General Industrials Group, Morgan Stanley.

Wei has an LLB from Fudan University, Shanghai, an MA from the University of Chicago and an MBA from The University of Chicago School of Business.

Matthew looks after the asset management, private equity, FinTech, and CFO arena assisting clients with senior placements in one of the "Big 5" International Search firms. Matthew is also active in the firm's assessment and development practice with particular focus on leadership advisory services in the asset management space

Prior to moving into Executive Search Matthew had a 15 year career in Capital and Investment Management, where most recently he was MD, Head of BD and IR at Guard Capital Management, one of the fastest growing Asia hedge funds.

Matthew studied Economics as an undergrad at Lake Forrest College, and holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business undertaken through the Executive program.

Jack Howell joined Zurich Insurance Group in 2016 as the Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific. Today he is responsible for a multibillion dollar Life and General Insurance P&L covering 9 countries with over 6,000 employees. Building on his experience, Jack focuses on strengthening and building Zurich‘s presence in the region.

Jack joins Zurich from Generali, where he held the role of Regional Officer for Asia. He has over twenty years of industry knowledge and a successful track record in managing insurance businesses in the APAC region, including CEO positions in the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia at AIG and Prudential.

Jack joined The Boston Consulting Group in Chicago after graduating business school.

Jack is a graduate of Tufts University in Quantitative Economics, and holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School Of Business.

James has a 15 year track record in the TMT sector, including engineering roles with AT&T and T-Mobile in the US, before moving to a Business Consulting role with Huawei after graduating Chicago Booth.

In moving to Hutchison Telecom Group, James focused on continuous development in the ABC of Telecom services: Analytics, Big Data & Cloud.

Vivian has been with RRJ Capital, an Asian investment firm which focuses on private equity investments in China and South-East Asia, with a strong focus on Energy, Health and Finance, since 2011.

Prior to TTJ Capital, Vivian spent 11 years in various roles with increasing responsibility in GE and GE Capital, in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

Vivian joined PWC in Audit from University and is a Chartered Accountant.

Vivian is a graduate of The University of Hong Kong with a BBA in Accounting and Finance, and holds an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School Of Business.

Chris is the Head of Corporate ans Investment Banking, Citi Hong Kong and also serves as the Head of Alternative Assets Group for Citi Asia Pacific. Chris has worked with Citi for over 20 years, primarily in Hong Kong where he currently works, but has also spent time in New York and Chicago.

In his dual role in Citi, he serves as;

  • Head of Hong Kong, Corporate and Investment Banking - where he manages a network of multinational organizations ans total tier local corporates & financial institutions, tailoring a broad range of financial services from investment banking to corporate banking to trade services
  • Head of Alternative Assets, Asia Pacific - where he covers a client base that covers all of the major active pools of capital in Asia, including traditional global and local buyout funds, expansion capital-oriented funds, quasi-governmental investment organizations, leading hedge funds and venture capitalists with a product offering that includes M&A, IPOs, a equity and debt offerings. 

He first came to Asia in 1999 and was previously an integral member of Citigroup's Financial Institutions Investment Banking team in Chicago, New York and Hong Kong. He also served as the Chief Operating Officer of Corporate & Investment Banking , Asia Pacific from 2010 to 2013

Mr. Laskowski holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business

In recent years Sumner has held Director, Industry Sales and Digital Transformation in verticals including Public Sector. Prior to the senior roles in Vertical markets, Sumner was the Country Manager for Intel, responsible for Malaysia and Singapore.

After a 15 year career as a Journalist and Editor in print and online media for IDG and subsidiaries, Sumner joined Intel in 2010 as Corporate Communications Manager for Asia  on achieving his MBA.

Sumner holds an MBA with honors from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA in East Asian studies from Colby College.

King transformed Datatrade from a traditional direct marketing agency to a multiple award winning technology and data intelligence driven marketing company with international presence in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Manila, as well as being part of a global CRM/digital agency network over 10 years.

King spun off the CRM business unit to become CLiX, an ‘Intelligence Driven Loyalty Marketing’ company, now also award winning.

From an engineering and project management background, King spent 3 years with BearingPoint (now KPMG Consulting) before joining Booz & Co (now Strategy&) on graduating the part time MBA program.

King has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA with Honours from the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business.

Jeff Chao-Hsien Lin is Chief Strategy Officer of Country Garden Holdings, an HK-listed real estate development company with strategic business expansion into education, hotels, and Healthcare. Country Garden is now a Fortune 500 company and the largest developer in the world with revenue of USD 90B (2017). Jeff is in charge of strategic planing, strategic projects (smart city, tech towns), strategy based transformation, M&A and strategic investment.  

Prior to his career with Country Garden, Jeff has worked in strategy consulting firms for over 15 years, including Boston Consulting Group, Booz, and Roland Berger. Jeff is one of the first-batch international strategy consultants working in China since earlier 1990s. In his consulting career, Jeff served more than 50 Fortune 500s clients and more than 10 leading investment institutions on topics of strategy, transformation, and M&A / Investment. In addition to his consulting career, Jeff worked for Procter & Gamble as assistant brand manager and SBG (now an integrated part of Dasym Capital) as president. 

Jeff earned his BA degree from National Taiwan University in 1987 and a MBA degree from Booth School of Business, University of Chicago in.

WeiWei Xing is a Principal at Bain & Company's Greater China office, Since Joining Bain in 2011, Weiwei has advised consumer products multinationals in mainland China, as well as Local Hong Kong conglomerates, on the topics of organizational transformations, strategy and performance improvement. In addition to client work, Weiwei leads the Hong Kong chapter of Woman at Bain initiative and Bain's Social Impact efforts.  She is based in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining Bain, Weiwei worked at IBM Global Services, based in Boston, where she led technology implementation projects for clients in the Financial Services arena in the US and UK. Weiwei holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
