Military Resources, Community, and Support at Chicago Booth

If you’re an active military or veteran seeking an MBA, here are the offerings and resources that you can take advantage of at Chicago Booth and across The University of Chicago.

Accessibility to the Program

Determining how to finance your MBA is a critical piece in deciding where you plan to pursue your MBA. As a sign of our continued commitment to recruiting individuals with military experience, we offer an application fee waiver to all veterans and active military candidates. Additionally, we are proud to announce that the Harper Family Foundation just made a $10 million gift to provide scholarships for US veterans attending Chicago Booth. That is in addition to the $10 million alumnus Eric Gleacher, ‘67, previously gifted to fund Booth’s groundbreaking scholarship program for US veterans. Booth also recently doubled its contributions under the Yellow Ribbon Program, as part of the Post-9/11 GI Bill. This allows for qualifying veterans to receive up to $30,000 in benefits from the school. To demonstrate our continued commitment to veteran candidates from outside of the United States, we are proud to offer the Carlton Fellowship and numerous Global Innovator Fellowships. 

Support from a Growing Military Community

Since 2006, the number of veteran MBA students enrolled at Chicago Booth has increased nearly 300 percent. This robust community comes to life through our Armed Forces Group (AFG), a student association that puts on social events throughout the year, supports fellow members during the recruiting process, and serves as a strong network while at Booth and beyond. As part of the greater student population, the AFG community feels like a tight-knit family. They not only help with academic related pursuits, but embody Booth’s pay-it-forward culture while assisting the transition to civilian life.
