Brian Cheng

Current Student and CEO, Generation Hong Kong

Brian Cheng is the chief executive officer of Generation Hong Kong, which is a part of the global independent nonprofit organization founded by McKinsey & Company. Since its launch in early 2018, Brian has been leading Generation Hong Kong, which aims at transforming the education-to-employment system to prepare, place, and support people into life-changing careers that would otherwise be inaccessible, and to solve the talent mismatch and the future talent needs in Hong Kong.

Prior to joining Generation, Brian had been in the higher education sector over the past decade, leading the Asia operation of The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and the administrative functions of The Hong Kong Institute of Technology.  

Brian is passionate about supporting youth and the community in various capacities. Currently, Brian serves as a council member of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, a member of the Advisory Committee on Gifted Education under The Education Bureau, and a member of the Honorary Advisory Committee of Enactus Hong Kong.

Brian holds a BA and an MBA from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and is also a current recipient of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Chicago Booth Executive MBA Program Scholarship.

Catherine Gurtin

Chief Executive Officer, PathFinders

Catherine Gurtin has worked on child rights and protection across Asia for more than a decade and is passionate about connecting and bringing people together in pursuit of solutions and common goals.

Catherine joined PathFinders as CEO in February 2019, following seven years with Save the Children, where she worked as a consultant project manager for Save the Children International’s Asia Regional Office, and most recently as COO for Save the Children Hong Kong.

Prior to joining the NGO sector, Catherine worked for more than a decade in communications and public affairs, latterly as an associate director in the International Public Affairs team at Pfizer. Catherine earned her bachelor of science in psychology from the University of Surrey, England. She has lived in Asia for almost 15 years and has a 10-year-old son and a 9-year-old daughter.

Louis Hou

Chief Executive Officer, Dialogue In The Dark (HK) Foundation

Louis joined Dialogue In The Dark (HK) Foundation in 2018 as iCorp Solution Director and Head of Business Development and Program Management respectively, leading the team promoting inclusive workplace and supporting mainstream PoDs* employment. With his more than 10 years of NGO experience, much of which has been within the mission of inclusive contexts, Louis has been leading to promote social inclusion, bringing creativity and new inspiration to the foundation.

Louis has more than 20 years of people management experience in the Hong Kong and Asia region. Prior to joining Dialogue In The Dark, Louis conducted different sales development and management workshops for multinational enterprises. He also specializes in providing professional parenting courses and consultation services to schools and NGOs. 

Louis obtained a bachelor of business administration and master of social science in counseling at the University of Hong Kong. He is the founder of the Hong Kong Lacrosse Association and was a head coach in the 2006 and 2010 World Championships.

Erwin Huang

Associate Professor in Engineering Practice, Adjunct Professor, Senior Advisor on Entrepreneurship Education, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology

Erwin Huang is a serial entrepreneur and a leader in a social enterprise and the eLearning field for more than 30 years. Currently, he serves as associate director of the Technology, Leadership and Entrepreneurship Program at the Division of Integrative Systems and Design, and adjunct professor (Entrepreneurship) of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His mission is to teach social innovation and entrepreneurship to university students and to let more young generations understand entrepreneurial spirit, identify social issues, and create social impact through innovations.

Erwin is a pioneer in bringing technology to education and social enterprise. As an angel investor and mentor, he has extensive experience running startups and public companies as well as social enterprises, and has invested in multiple publishing, ICT, and mobile companies over the years in Hong Kong, People’s Republic of China, Tokyo, Silicon Valley, and London. He has successfully helped multiple companies go public in Hong Kong and Europe, and he ran one of the largest luxury companies in PRC for 10 years.

Tali Griffin

Senior Director of Marketing, Programs, and Partnerships, Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation

Tali Griffin is senior director of marketing, programs, and partnerships at the Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation. In this capacity, Tali leads the Rustandy Center's work to equip its community with the tools and insights to create impact. She drives the Center’s global suite of programs, partnerships across sectors, and work to amplify lessons learned from research and practice.

Prior to joining the Rustandy Center, Tali served as the campaign director at Chicago Booth, helping to oversee the school’s participation in the University of Chicago Campaign: Inquiry and Impact, and worked closely with faculty and administrative leadership to fundraise for Booth’s research and learning centers. A seasoned nonprofit professional with more than 15 years of experience, she enjoys conducting hands-on training sessions for nonprofit boards and volunteer leaders.

Bowie Lam

Strategic Advisor and Founder, Teen’s Key

Bowie Lam founded Teen’s Key Hong Kong in 2011 as its executive director to empower and provide support services to more than 15,000 marginalized young women and girls, including health, education, and employment support. She recently became a strategic advisor of the organization. She received a senior fellowship from Firetree Philanthropy in exploration for different ways to support the mental health and well-being of young people in Hong Kong. Bowie completed her EMBA at Chicago Booth at the receipt of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Chicago Booth Executive MBA Program Scholarship, and holds a master of arts in non-profit/public/organizational management from HKU.

Bowie was recognized by Gen. T Leader of Tomorrow 2022 and won the Inspiring Women Award from Marie Claire Hong Kong with her work at Teen’s Key. She is currently an Advisory Committee Member of Tai Kwun and Hong Kong Jockey Club LevelMind project.

Kevin Lau

Founding Executive Chairman, Trinity Medical Group; Board Director and Chairman of Medical Advisory Committee, Make-A-Wish International

Dr. Kevin Lau is the founding executive chairman of Trinity Medical Group, a leading provider of comprehensive healthcare services in Hong Kong. Kevin holds various positions in the medical field, including vice president cum chairman of membership subcommittees of the HKU Medical Alumni Association, honorary treasurer of the Association of Private Medical Specialists of Hong Kong, and member of the Medicine and Health Committee. He actively participates in governmental organizations, including the Commission on Poverty and the Working Group on Oral Health and Dental Care.

Additionally, Kevin serves as a board director cum chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee of Make-A-Wish International. He has also contributed to organizations such as Our Hong Kong Foundation, the Hong Kong Coalition, and the Y.Elites Association.

Kevin's commitment to community service was recognized with the Medal of Honour by the HKSAR Government in 2023, highlighting his selfless dedication and outstanding achievements.

Carol Liang

Deputy CEO, Mind HK

Carol Liang has been at Mind HK since 2017, where she has led the organization’s communications strategy, campaigns, digital content, and external relations, prior to stepping into the role of Deputy CEO in early 2022.

Carol previously supported public health development and communication programmes for the United Nations and a number of health-focused NGOs and digital health start-ups in Boston, New York, and Geneva. She holds an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Medical Humanities, a Masters of Public Health, and a Masters of Counseling.

Outside of Mind HK, Carol is a mental health counselor for adolescents and young adults, a member of the Laureus Model City Hong Kong Steering Committee, a mentor for Resolve’s 2022-2023 Fellowship, and a member of the Global Shapers Hong Kong hub. She is passionate about everything public health, storytelling, and changing attitudes toward mental health.

Angelyn Lim

Investor, Board Director, Ripple Effect

Angelyn Lim drives sustainable organizational growth and lasting social change in Hong Kong and Singapore, using her strategic leadership and strong relationships with nonprofits and different funders to enable connections, and greater collaboration. She is a proven leader in both Big Law, for more than 25 years, where she led award-winning cross-jurisdictional teams, and, now, in the social impact sector.

Angelyn is a co-founder of Voice for Social Good, whose vision is for a better Hong Kong through a strong and resilient nonprofit community. She also leads Girls Just Wanna Have Fund$, a nonprofit seeking to eradicate the gender investing gap through educational and community events. Angelyn is part of The Women’s Foundation’s 30% Club of Board-ready Women to Watch, and its Mentoring Programme Alumni, and serves on the advisory boards of a number of social impact organizations in Hong Kong.

Legally qualified in Singapore, Hong Kong and the U.K., Angelyn most recently received her Sustainability and ESG Designation and Certification for Board Directors from Competent Boards.

Warren Luk

CEO, Good Lab

Warren Luk serves as the CEO of Good Lab, a social innovation “think-and-do” tank dedicated to catalyzing tri-sector collaboration and human-centered design for social impact. He has initiated and delivered an array of large-scale public sector innovation projects, drawing on the strengths of civil society, government, and businesses in Hong Kong.

Fueled by a passion for community participation, Warren employs design thinking to engage with communities, understand their needs, and foster consensus through the process of co-creation. Beyond this, Warren has spearheaded numerous capacity building and incubation programs to inspire and empower changemakers at universities and in diverse community circles.

With a commitment to public service, Warren serves on multiple advisory committees for the HKSAR Government and various NGOs in Hong Kong. Before Good Lab, he was a management consultant with experiences across global cities and earned his EMBA from Chicago Booth as a Hong Kong Jockey Club Chicago Booth Executive MBA Program Scholar.

Victoria Wisniewski Otero

Founder and CEO, Resolve Foundation

Victoria Wisniewski Otero is the founder & CEO of Resolve Foundation, an NGO started in 2017 with the mission to inspire, empower, and connect emerging community leaders for inclusive social change.

Resolve provides an inclusive, supportive, and enabling platform to amplify the voices of marginalized and underrepresented groups in Hong Kong and raise public awareness about diversity, equity, and inclusion. In her capacity as a nonprofit professional, Victoria has collaborated with other nonprofit heads to raise awareness about HR practices and well-being in the social sector, being co-creator of a Nonprofit Core Competency Framework, published in 2022, and member since 2020 of Voice for Social Good, an informal group of women NGO leaders in Hong Kong that coalesced in the wake of COVID-19.

For her community work, she was an awardee of the 2020 AmCham Women of Influence Award and a 2018 Tatler Gen T Honoree. Victoria has also served on advisory groups for CIVICUS Solidarity Fund and Pil-Net’s Law for Change student competition.

Peter Poon

Chief Program Officer, The D.H. Chen Foundation

Peter Poon is currently the Chief Program Officer of the D.H. Chen Foundation and an adjunct associate professor of the Centre for Health Education and Health Promotion, Chinese University of Hong Kong. Before his work in the Foundation, he was the executive director of the Kwai Ching District Health Centre and deputy chief executive officer of the Hong Kong Society for Rehabilitation.

Peter is a healthcare professional by training and has devoted his professional life to community health, empowerment, self-management, and compassionate care development at the people, program, organizational, and system levels.

Dr. Candice Powell

CEO, Mind HK; Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Candice Powell joined Mind HK as chief executive officer in September 2022. She is trained as a clinical psychologist at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Before joining Mind HK, Candice worked at New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association, one of Hong Kong’s largest community mental health NGOs, for 13 years. She is an honorary lecturer at The University of Hong Kong and a fellow of The Hong Kong Psychological Society, vice-chair of the Division of Clinical Psychology of HKPS, and a training officer of the Association of Contextual and Behavioural Science (Hong Kong Chapter). She is an awardee of Hong Kong Professional Elite Ladies Selection 2022.

Candice is diversely trained in evidence-based psychological intervention. Apart from being a practitioner, she is also a rigorous researcher and widely published in academic journals and has presented her study findings at local and international conferences. She has developed innovative intervention programs for improving people's mental health and well-being. She introduced Mindful Parenting, digitized Unified Protocol for emotional disorders, and established a stepped-care psychological service in Hong Kong. She hopes everyone with emotional distress can easily access quality psychological services.

John Paul Rollert

Adjunct Associate Professor of Behavioral Science, Chicago Booth

John Paul Rollert's teaching and research focus on the intellectual history of capitalism, the ethics of leadership, and the application of empathy to law, business, and politics. He is also interested in the political economy and moral philosophy of Adam Smith.

John Paul’s academic writing has been published by Critical Inquiry, Raritan, The Journal of Law, Culture and the Humanities, Business and Society Review, Common Knowledge, Modernism/modernity, Society, and The Yale Law Journal, and he also has forthcoming work in the Business and Professional Ethics Journal. In addition to his academic work, John frequently writes on business, law, and politics for a variety of popular publications. He writes the In-House Ethicist for Chicago Booth Review, and his work has been featured in The New Republic, Harper's, Fortune, Bloomberg, The Washington Post, Slate, The Paris Review, and The New York Times. For writing featured in The Atlantic, he was recognized by the Society of American Business Editors and Writers in its 2017 “Best in Business” Competition.

A graduate of Harvard College, John Paul earned his JD from Yale Law School and a PhD from The John U. Nef Committee on Social Thought at the University of Chicago. Since 2005, he has taught courses at Harvard in ethics, politics, and leadership.

Annelotte Walsh

Director of Research, Centre for Asian Philanthropy and Society

Dr. Annelotte Walsh has more than 14 years’ experience in policy research, data analysis, and management across academia, iNGOs and nonprofit organizations in Hong Kong, Australia, the Netherlands, and Tanzania.

In her capacity as director of research at the Centre for Asian Philanthropy and Society (CAPS), Annelotte designs, manages, and oversees CAPS' research projects throughout the region, including the Doing Good Index, a globally cited resource and policy guide identifying enabling and impeding factors for philanthropy and private social investment in 18 Asian economies.

Prior to joining CAPS, Annelotte worked as honorary lecturer at the Faculty of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Hong Kong teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Before this, she served as advocacy manager at UNICEF Australia, advocating and building awareness of child-friendly policies, practices, and legislative frameworks.

Annelotte completed her PhD in Law at the University of Hong Kong and holds a master’s in international relations from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands and a master’s in peace and conflict studies from the University of Sydney.

Pia Wong

Chief Impact Officer, B Purpose Bureau

Pia Wong is a social impact leader with 20+ years’ experience, committed to driving positive change through helping organizations measure, improve, and communicate their impact on people and the planet.

As chief impact officer of B Purpose Bureau, Pia helps businesses put purpose into action, while building trust and credibility by using the B Corp framework. In addition, she conducts independent third-party evaluations to assess the social impact of nonprofits.

Pia's professional journey includes regional leadership roles at PR agency Weber Shandwick in Shanghai and market research company Synovate. From 2010 to 2022, Pia served as the executive director of award-winning NGO Bring Me A Book Hong Kong and is co-founder of Voice for Social Good helping foster impactful partnerships between nonprofits and funders.

Pia has a BA (Hons) from University College London and received sustainability and nonprofit management certifications from Harvard Business School and Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership.

Nancy Yang

Founder, Asian Charity Services

Nancy Yang is the founder of Asian Charity Services. Toward its mission of “Serving those who Serve,” ACS has offered pro bono business consulting and training to more than 900 local nonprofits and SEs serving Hong Kong’s neediest communities.

Prior to that, Nancy was the chief strategy officer with a mobile gaming company in Beijing, developing and distributing games for major Japanese and US gaming companies. The company was later sold to Walt Disney Co. in 2007. She also worked as a management consultant at A.T. Kearney, specializing in business strategy for multinationals across Asia, as well as a financial analyst in the real estate sector in the US.

Nancy has been actively involved in various community groups and also serves on the boards of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and the Groton School. She holds an MBA in Marketing from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, and a BS degree in Economics from Wharton.
