Coming to Booth, I felt like the door was open. I knew that there was a pathway to get to whatever industry, whatever kind of job I was interested in. In college, I started a graphic design company and eventually became an executive producer for a Hispanic language television show. The idea of bringing something from the conception stage to execution really intrigued me. I knew that in order to do that I would need to advance my education. Coming from a nontraditional background, I tend to see things from consumer perspective, being able to go and learn frameworks, knowing how to analyze situations regardless of the context. My own personal inclination is toward tech.

There are a lot of really interesting tech companies that recruit at Booth, including many startups. There's a club on campus called Booth Hacks that had a Intro To Coding class, anything from intro to SQL to learning how to create an app, that was so popular that it actually became a course. We have the Booth Technology Group, which is a great resource for connecting students to second years who have worked at these companies, Google, Microsoft, Apple. Many of the clubs here at Booth, there's very much a social element to them. It's a nice way to just stay connected. I have been incredibly impressed by the Booth community at large.
