Aleksandra: The journey of personal growth often mirrors professional development, shaping the individual behind the achievements and ambitions. Outside of my career, my identity is deeply rooted in resilience, curiosity, and an unwavering commitment to growth; traits that have guided me through every chapter of my life. I see Chicago Booth’s Executive MBA Program as a distinctive opportunity to propel your success beyond what you ever imagined. One of Booth’s many strengths is the access it provides to a truly global cohort. Whatever challenges life may present, the global Booth network ensures you’ll always have options, wherever you are in the world.

Nasser: I chose Chicago Booth because of its unwavering commitment to analytical rigor, global perspective, leadership development, and global reputation. Furthermore, I specifically chose the Sokolov Executive MBA Program for several reasons. First, it offers world-class business education and frameworks, which are invaluable for me as an entrepreneur and investor aiming to scale my ventures across industries. Second, the program offers strategic global networking with like-minded professionals across borders and industries. Third, the Booth name, brand strength, and credibility carries weight in boardrooms, investor circles, and entrepreneurial ecosystems worldwide. Finally, I was drawn to the entrepreneurial mindset, alumni network, and resources that will equip me to build, scale, and lead ventures.

I’m most looking forward to the intellectual challenge and peer learning from a diverse global cohort, building lasting friendships and a powerful network, and deepening my entrepreneurial mindset through Booth’s resources. Ami: Marking my tenth year as a board member of a growing public company, I felt it was the right time to expand my management knowledge and refine my decision-making approach. Booth stood out to me for its distinctive philosophy, which holds that true education is not about what to think but how to think. During the Kick-Off Week, I experienced this philosophy in action as rigorous theory met human insight through lessons taught by world-class professors and shared with exceptionally talented peers from around the world. That transformative week revealed new dimensions of thinking, and I am eager to continue deepening this journey, which strengthens both my mind and heart.

What advice would you give to individuals considering Chicago Booth's Executive MBA Program?

Aleksandra: My advice to potential Booth EMBA applicants is to embrace perseverance and take ownership of your journey—both personally and professionally. Every experience, even the challenging ones, builds adaptability, resilience, and a solution-oriented mindset. These qualities will not only help you thrive in the program but also shape who you become as a leader. If you already find yourself deeply thinking about this step and what it could mean for your future, take that as a sign—it’s your future self-encouraging you to begin your EMBA journey so you can meet the person you’re meant to become.

In the words of Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” What are you waiting for?

Nasser: If you're considering the Booth EMBA, start by being clear about your goals and how the program aligns with your long-term vision. Engage early with the Booth community to understand its culture and expectations—it’s a place that values intellectual curiosity and collaboration. Be authentic in your application; your unique story and ambitions are what set you apart. And most importantly, be ready to stretch yourself—the journey is demanding, but the personal and professional transformation it offers is truly worth it.

Ami: I’d say keep in mind that many new students begin this journey with their own worries and challenges, yet Booth has a remarkable way of transforming them into growth, connection, and joy. Surrounded by a truly global community, you soon find your perspective expanding and your courage renewed through shared experiences. Each classmate brings something extraordinary, creating an environment that constantly challenges and uplifts everyone.

My study group of five inspiring, talented, and deeply kind peers has become one of the greatest gifts in my life, reminding me that the deepest learning happens when diverse minds and hearts from around the world come together and truly listen to one another. In their company, I’ve discovered that education transcends the classroom and thrives in community.

Aleksandra: The Global Kick-Off Week exceeded all expectations. Many would describe it as an extraordinary experience, highlighting the caliber of the cohort, the exceptional faculty (including Nobel laureates), and the dedicated team that made us feel so welcome. Yet, what stood out most to me was the diversity within the cohort and the meaningful exchange of both professional and personal experiences. Forming lifelong friendships, building genuine bonds, and feeling safe enough to share our fears and uncertainties about the future within our study group were experiences I never imagined having during Kick-Off Week.

Ami: Professor Linda E. Ginzel’s class in managerial psychology was both intellectually rigorous and deeply moving, an experience that continues to resonate with me today.

Through her passionate and imaginative teaching, Professor Ginzel conveyed the core lessons and lasting wisdom that define success in both business and life. Every session reflected not only her extraordinary intellect but also her genuine care for each student, drawing us into a shared rhythm of discovery that made the week truly unforgettable. By the end of Kick-Off Week, I realized that learning at Booth, among inspiring professors and accomplished peers, opens doors far beyond business skills or career advancement; it is a journey that reveals new worlds, broadens your perspective, and can transform how you see yourself and the world.
