Diversity and Inclusion
At Chicago Booth, we believe that the best ideas emerge from a community of diverse backgrounds, multiple perspectives, and an international scope.
Diversity and inclusion are central to our mission to produce knowledge with enduring impact, and to influence and educate current and future leaders.
We are committed to welcoming and embracing people from all ethnicities, cultures, genders, sexual orientations, and religious beliefs. Our efforts are ongoing, and we offer a wide array of diversity and inclusion programs to promote a community of inclusion.
A Tradition of Inclusion
Since 1929, when we became the first university to grant a PhD in business to a woman, we have broken barriers and led the way in creating a diverse, inclusive community. In 1970, Booth students founded the National Black MBA Association. In 1985, Chicago Booth became the first elite business school with an office dedicated to the support of underrepresented student populations, including African American, Hispanic American, Native American, female, and LGBTQ students.
Today, Booth Diversity & Inclusion leads our efforts to create a respectful, inclusive, open environment for each member of the Booth community. Together, we will continue to build on our strengths to expand our reach, remove barriers to participation, and create lasting change.
Chicago Booth has a deep commitment to supporting women students in their journey through business school and beyond.
At Chicago Booth, we’re committed to fostering a strong LGBTQ student community through partnerships, student groups, events, and more.
We welcome students from around the world, and we’re committed to offering the support our global students need to thrive.
We value your experience, perspective, and maturity as a military veteran, and we’re committed to supporting your success.

Support for Partners and Families
When you join the Chicago Booth community, your whole family does too. We welcome and embrace partners and families through initiatives including Booth Partners, a student group that provides a vital network of community and support for spouses, significant others, and families, and Booth Partners hosts more than 75 events a year, from Chicago tours and pop culture meetups to skill-sharing workshops and career events.
Booth Partners also has a subgroup called Parents of Little Ones. This subgroup helps you connect with other parents for some play dates, or even activities without the kids.
In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, we want to help you explore the resources available to Latinx students, as well as the ways in which all Booth students can learn more and celebrate the diverse cultures that comprise this heritage.
Booth is doubling its contributions under the Yellow Ribbon Program, which provides assistance with tuition and fees for qualifying student veterans.
