Research Interests

Eliana studies the ways in which people's beliefs tend to be miscalibrated and how these beliefs might lead people to make suboptimal decisions. For example, she has found that people overestimate the enjoyment of easy work and discount dimensions such as boredom, ultimately leading them to choose tasks that they are not satisfied with. She has extended this line of work to examine people's beliefs about policy interventions and organizational failure and hopes to pursue questions around people's beliefs about social interactions and interpersonal relationships.
