The LEAD program was one of the first experiential leadership development programs at a major business school and is continuously updated to adapt to the evolving challenges of leadership. LEAD (Leadership Exploration and Development) is a required course across all Chicago Booth MBA programs. Within the Executive MBA program, LEAD sessions occur over a number of quarters throughout the 21 month program.
LEAD is designed to enhance students’ self-awareness and interpersonal effectiveness by providing them with an opportunity to benchmark themselves with respect to critical aspects of leadership – working in teams, influencing others, conflict management, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills. As such, the course challenges students to explore who they are as leaders and to create a personalized plan to guide their continued development at Booth and beyond. Students work on desired leadership traits in alignment with personal leadership aspirations and professional direction.
