The 2023 Rising Scholars event will be hosted at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Find more details here!

The Rising Scholars Conference originated at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 2020 to support doctoral student and faculty diversity, with Harvard Business School hosting the conference in 2021. Chicago Booth was honored to continue this tradition and hosted the third annual conference virtually on November 1 and 2, 2022. Over 60 students and postdocs representing almost 40 institutions shared their research

The conference's objective was to help rising scholars, particularly those from underrepresented communities, gain research insights, valuable exposure, and faculty mentorship.

Conference speakers emphasized the impact of diversity on scholarship and the potential for interdisciplinary collaboration. Students and postdocs presented exciting and innovative work and received real-time feedback from faculty, peers, and session participants. Faculty from top US institutions, including Chicago Booth, MIT, HBS, Stanford GSB, the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, among others, participated in sessions, panel discussions, and individual one on one meetings with students.
