Diana is from Guatemala and came to Chicago Booth after several years in consulting at Slalom, where she worked on digital transformation projects across industries like CPG, manufacturing, healthcare, and e-commerce. She loved the challenge of navigating complex business problems and helping clients adapt to a rapidly changing world. Outside of work, Diana helps run her family’s coffee plantation, where they’ve invested in biodiversity, shade-grown practices, and sustainable expansion. Over time, Diana became increasingly interested in tech, product development, and the idea of exporting their coffee internationally—so Booth felt like the perfect next step. For Diana, Booth has been a place where she can dream big and explore the intersection of her personal passions and professional ambitions.

Why did you choose Chicago Booth, more specifically, what sold you on our Full-Time MBA Program?

I chose Booth for the people, the challenge, and the flexibility. My classmates have truly become family—they’ve supported me through both tough and joyful times, and I’m constantly inspired by their character, brilliance, and generosity. Professors challenge us daily with coursework that’s intellectually rigorous and immediately relevant. The flexibility of the curriculum has allowed me to explore both tech/product and international entrepreneurship in a way that’s uniquely tailored to my goals. Booth has not only opened professional doors—it’s given me a community that has my back and makes me better every day.

What would you like prospective students to know about OUTreach at Booth?

OUTreach is more than a club—it’s a community where you’ll find belonging, growth, and real joy. Whether you’re joining as an LGBTQ+ student or as an ally, there’s a place for you here. We welcome people from all walks of life and all stages of their identity journeys. You’ll have access to mentorship, friendships, and a wide variety of events that meet you where you are. OUTreach is one of the most supportive and uplifting spaces I’ve found at Booth.

Why did you decide to join OUTreach?

Two OUTreach members were my Random Walk leads, and they made me feel truly accepted, celebrated, and welcomed from day one. Their kindness and support showed me the power of community. I wanted to give back by providing that same feeling for others. OUTreach creates a space where no matter your background or what challenges or joys you’re experiencing, you know you have support. It’s a place where everyone belongs and can be fully themselves.

What do you appreciate most about being a member and co-chair of OUTreach?

I love the liveliness and energy OUTreach brings—we truly are the life of the party. Sometimes we’re loud and bold; other times, quiet and reflective, but always proud of who we are and how our experiences have shaped us. We’ve faced struggles and celebrated triumphs together, creating a strong, supportive community. What stands out most is how we share love and acceptance with everyone who crosses our path. We bring sparkle and glitter to the Booth community, making it a brighter, more inclusive place for all.

How has your involvement in OUTreach contributed to the connections you’ve made during your time at Chicago Booth?

OUTreach has been a major source of connection for me at Booth. Some of my closest friendships and most honest conversations have happened through this community. It’s given me a sense of belonging, a group of people who truly get me, and a reason to show up more fully in other parts of school life. It’s also introduced me to incredible Boothies across class years, which has made Booth feel much more personal and interconnected. The community I’ve found here has shaped how I show up—not just in school, but in life.

What are you looking forward to most this Pride Month?

I’m currently in Seattle for my PM internship at Amazon, and I’m excited to celebrate Pride with the amazing, vibrant community I’m building here. Pride Month feels like the perfect mix of fun and reflection as I celebrate the strong partnership my partner and I have built while navigating the ups and downs of MBA life together. We’ve tackled new adventures, travel, and challenges side by side, and that teamwork keeps me energized. It’s a great time to appreciate the support around me and just enjoy the good vibes. I’m looking forward to soaking in all the joy, connection, and celebration this month brings.
