Coronavirus Updates

COVID-19 has had a devastating impact on lives and livelihoods around the globe. As countries begin to reopen for business and travel, policymakers, corporate leaders, and nonprofits are faced with a profoundly uncertain future for which historical data and past precedents may not be reliable guides. Faced with such uncertainty, how do we rebuild?

On July 22, members from throughout the global Booth community watched a conversation between Mervyn King, former governor of the Bank of England and coauthor with John Kay of Radical Uncertainty: Decision-Making Beyond the Numbers, and Chicago Booth's Randall S. Kroszner, Chicago Booth’s Deputy Dean for Executive Programs, the Norman R. Bobins Professor of Economics, and former governor of the Federal Reserve System.

This virtual event was the first in Booth’s Road to Economic Recovery series on COVID-19. Each event will take place digitally and include a discussion with industry leaders, policymakers, and other experts from Booth and beyond, who will dive deep into the questions, concerns, and challenges facing global leaders and citizens alike.
