Biography

Ravi Mehta is a special situations investor with over 18 years of experience investing in opportunistic credit globally. 

Over the course of his career, he has invested across the capital structure and liquidity spectrum.  His experience spans tradeable stressed and distressed debt, structured capital transactions, DIP financings, equity backstops, trade claims, sovereign credit investments, and post-reorganization equities.  Ravi has served on numerous ad hoc creditor groups and boards of restructured companies. 

Ravi teaches a course at Booth on distressed debt investing, where students analyze real-world restructurings to understand how sophisticated investors evaluate complex capital structures and navigate the restructuring process.  He has previously taught a course on distressed debt investing at the University of Chicago Law School. 

He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics, magna cum laude, from Harvard College.
