Chicago Booth Harper Center

Biography

Professor Jabbour studies the design and deployment of AI systems that help humans make decisions in high-stakes environments, with a particular focus on healthcare. Her research is motivated by a central challenge: despite strong performance in controlled settings, AI systems often fail to improve real-world outcomes once deployed. To address this gap, she develops methods for building more reliable AI systems and empirically studies how humans use and are influenced by AI in practice. Her work has been published in top-tier computer science venues, including ECCV and NeurIPS, as well as leading medical and policy journals, including JAMA and Health Affairs.

Prior to joining Booth, Jabbour earned a PhD in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Michigan. She also completed dual bachelor's degrees in Computer Science & Engineering (BSE) from the University of Michigan College of Engineering and Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
