Miller was named CEO in 2006, the first woman and youngest CEO to head a major public radio network. During her tenure, she has championed the integration of PRI's content with consumer perspectives and social media to increase its reach and impact. In 2012, she initiated and led PRI's acquisition by WGBH, the producer of public television flagship programs such as Masterpiece Theater, Frontline, Nova, Antiques Roadshow, and Arthur, to increase PRI's ability to effectively and efficiently create multimedia content. Today, PRI's content reaches nearly 17 million people each month across broadcast and web; PRI's podcasts are downloaded over five million times each month.

With a passion for understanding how people consume and engage with news and information, Miller speaks regularly about the power of storytelling, individuals, and technology to transform the world. Her 2008 TED Talk on the ways in which digital/mass media shapes our view of the world has been viewed 1.25 million times and has been translated into 45 languages. Her TED e-book, Media Makeover: Improving The News One Click At A Time, was published in 2011. Recently, she launched a comprehensive media project at the Clinton Global Initiative to dramatically increase news coverage and engagement around global women's issues (Across Women's Lives).

Prior to joining PRI, Miller served as an executive in strategic alliances for Sesame Workshop and as the digital product and business development lead for SesameStreet.com. She is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Miller has been recognized for her knowledge and expertise in the journalism, technology, and business fields. She received the Outstanding Broadcast Alumna Award from the University of Nebraska in 2008. In 2011, Fast Company named her one of the Most Influential Women in Technology. She received the Twin Cities Business Journal Women in Business Leader Award in 2010, and was named a Twin Cities Women Leader by the George Family Foundation in 2014. Miller received an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and an MPP from the Harris Graduate School of Public Policy. She holds a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism, graduating with highest distinction from the University of Nebraska.
