Global Kick-Off Week in Chicago

Our new class is brimming with talent and diverse expertise. They are academically accomplished, with 54% of the class holding advanced degrees already. These students represent 45 different nationalities, further enriching Booth’s global network. They are senior professionals with an average of 14 years of work experience and enter Chicago Booth from 29 various industries.

Aside from their academic and professional credentials, our new class brings so many other talents and interests to the community. We have athletes, including a former basketball player for the National Congo Team and a former National Squash Team player for Singapore. We have artists, ranging from a concert pianist to a DJ in Brooklyn, New York. We have a veterinary neurosurgeon and a licensed chef from Japan. Suffice it to say, this is a dynamic, exciting group of individuals, and their time in Chicago together did not disappoint.

Over seven days, our newest EMBA students were officially welcomed to Booth by Dean Madhav Rajan and experienced their first Microeconomics and Managerial Psychology classes. They dove into group assignments with each other and formed new friendships from across the Chicago, London, and Hong Kong campus cohorts. They participated in a fun get-to-know-your-classmates scavenger hunt across Chicago and ended their week with a boat cruise on Lake Michigan, complete with fireworks.

As one class takes off, we start the search for next year’s group.
