Get to Know Gil Jimenez, Evening MBA StudentWe had Chicago Booth students weigh in on how their MBA experience has developed their leadership abilities; these Boothies detailed how they developed through obtaining tangible skillsets in a robust learning environment, surrounded by a community of mutually developing leaders. Hear students describe how they gained post-MBA leadership confidence with inclusion and empathy at the forefront of their journey.
Speaker 1: Something I love and did not fully expect about this time in the the Booth community is this strong emphasis on leadership development. So you have a community of people who can give you feedback. We all have, you know, some shared language for how to talk about leadership development.
Speaker 2: I've been given this sort of skillset where I can think about, okay what type of preparation, what type of question, what type of statement do I need to make within my team right now to push this project forward?
Speaker 3: Booth offers a seminar for incoming new students which allows me to learn different leadership tactics.
Speaker 4: At one point in time there was a certain reluctance to say things to managers, directors, or supervisors but now even in a short time, I feel a lot more confident.
Speaker 5: I have become more aware and I've placed more emphasis on inclusion. I ask more questions. I seek to understand people deeper and I really aim to bring everyone to the table.
