William M. Fitzgerald, MBA ’88, is the founder and chief investment officer of Fitzgerald Asset Management, LLC. Fitzgerald founded Fitzgerald Asset Management in 2012 to develop investment strategies that advance environmental sustainability. He has managed direct investments in renewable energy projects and advised Ford Motor Company on financing a low carbon central energy plant at its headquarters. During his tenure, Nuveen was named 2005 Fixed Income Manager of the Year for Large Mutual Funds by Lipper Analytical Services, and he expanded the platform to include equity, mezzanine debt, and alternative investment strategies. He has served on the boards of Syncora Guarantee Inc., the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board, and the Janus Henderson mutual funds, and currently serves as a member of the Council on Chicago Booth and as a trustee of Beloit College.

Fitzgerald holds a BA in economics and psychology from Beloit College and an MBA from Chicago Booth.
