Ted Huffman, MBA ’96
Ted Huffman, MBA '96 is a senior managing director and chief strategy officer at Pretium, where he has overall responsibility for leading corporate strategy, including strategic acquisitions, dispositions, alliances, and partnerships. Huffman is a member of the firm’s executive committee and operating committee.
Prior to joining Pretium in 2014, Huffman led financial institution corporate originations for Lone Star US Acquisitions. Prior to Lone Star, Huffman was a senior managing director at Bear, Stearns & Co, where he began his career in the leveraged finance group before leading strategic transactions for financial institutions. Huffman served in the United States Navy as a surface warfare officer.
Outside of his work at Pretium, Huffman and his wife, Cheryl, founded the GreenShoots Foundation in 2021, a nonpartisan organization dedicated to uplifting communities across the social fabric of America. Inspired by the idea of “green shoots” emerging after hardship, the foundation focuses on supporting US military veterans, rural communities, addressing homeless, and strengthening civic participation. Huffman also serves as a member of the Council on Chicago Booth.
He received a BA from Georgetown University and an MBA from Chicago Booth.
