Probation Monitoring and Household FInancial Health

In an effort to secure payments of fines, fees, and restitution and prevent recidivism, the Federal Probation System authorizes probation officers to monitor the finances of probationers. They may scrutinize assets, liabilities, expenses and may recommend changes or financial counseling. I consider the effect of this increased scrutiny on the financial health of probationers.
