Applied AI in New York
The Center for Applied AI at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, in collaboration with the Advancement team, hosted two events with our alumni community in New York City on June 12 and 13, 2024. These events featured keynote presentations by CAAI Faculty Director and Charles H. Kellstadt Distinguished Service Professor of Marketing and Applied AI Sanjog Misra.
PhD Event: Deep Structural Learning - June 12, 2024
On June 12, the event at Kepos Capital hosted by Mark Carhart ’95 (Kepos Capital), focused on "Deep Structural Learning," drawing 28 attendees. Professor Misra presented the potential of deep structural learning in various industries. Ingrid Tierens ’96 (Goldman Sachs) and Ray Iwanowski ’97 (SECOR Asset Management) introduced Professor Misra. Organized by the Booth PhD steering committee, the event included discussions on both theoretical frameworks and practical applications.
All-Alumni Event: Generative Thinking - June 13, 2024
On June 13, the event at Melio Payments centered on "Generative Thinking," with 62 alumni and guests attending. Sanjog Misra discussed the advancements and impacts of generative AI technologies. Prashant Gandhi ’00 (Melio Payments) hosted the event, which featured an engaging Q&A session and networking opportunities.
