MBA Student Perspectives: Tech Product Management at BoothEstablished in 2011, the SNVC is the social impact track of the Edward L. Kaplan, ’71, New Venture Challenge, Chicago’s Booth’s business launch program, and is organized by the Rustandy Center in partnership with the Polsky Center.
On May 22, eight Chicago Booth student teams will take part in the final round of the John Edwardson, '72, Social New Venture Challenge (SNVC), a competition for Chicago Booth startups with a social mission. Established in 2011, the SNVC is the social impact track of the Edward L. Kaplan, '71, New Venture Challenge, Chicago’s Booth’s business launch program, and is organized by the Rustandy Center in partnership with the Polsky Center.
Placing in the SNVC can be a major turning point for students working to get their startups off the ground. Winners of the 2018 competition will share $75,000 in prize money and additional mission-focused awards to help launch their companies.
The SNVC is not only available to full-time students, but students in the Part-Time programs too, and we are excited to announce that Booth’s Evening MBA and Weekend MBA Programs are well-represented on this year’s student teams! 15 Evening and Weekend students on 8 different teams are participating in the competition – that’s nearly half of all teams currently competing in phase II throughout the Spring Quarter!
So who will be named the winners of the 2018 SNVC? Check back with us in a few weeks…
Best of luck to AIM Clinics, Akadi Solar, Compass, Fiduscript, GoodWorks, Innovate for Impact, Roibooks, and Unbreakable, and all the teams taking part in this year’s SNVC!
