Date: February 17, 2023

Time: 12:00-1:00 pm

Location: Harper Center C25

In celebration of the 300th birthday of Adam Smith and 125 years of Chicago Booth, the IGM held a conversation with Sam Peltzman, a faculty member at the university since 1973 and one of the senior statesmen of the Chicago School. They discussed the history of the Chicago School of Economics with someone who was there through it all, reflect on commonalities between Adam Smith's thinking and the Chicago school, and common public misunderstandings of each. The conversation was moderated by IGM Co-Director Eric Budish.
