The Journal of Accounting Research publishes original research using analytical, empirical, experimental, and field study methods in accounting research. Since 1963, the journal has been published by the Accounting Research Center (ARC) at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Beginning in June 2001, JAR has been published by the ARC in partnership with Wiley-Blackwell.
JAR publishes five issues per year (March, May, June, September, and December). The May issue was formerly called the Supplement, and publishes papers presented at the previous year's annual research conference. To submit or review a paper, visit The JAR Electronic Office .
