Wen-Ying Sylvia Chou, PhD, MPH is a Visiting Scholar at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania and founder of Mosaic Research Fund. As a prolific health communication scholar with over 125 peer-reviewed publications, her research on misinformation, social media, and end-of-life discourse have been referenced in major media outlets. Her recent interests include understanding and addressing the spread of health misinformation, relationship-centered health communication, and the use of mixed methods in supporting patient-centered health research. Chou has been outspoken in the media in defense of science and its role in democracy. She visits campus this spring as part of the Healthcare Scholar in Residence program at the Tolan Center.
This talk will appeal broadly to future leaders of (and investors in) provider, payer, life science and medtech firms, as well as digital health entrepreneurs, where patient trust is foundational.
