Matteo Saccarola is a Howard and Nancy Marks Fellow at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He received his PhD in Economics from UC Berkeley. He has an MSc in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University and a BS in Economics from Ca' Foscari University of Venice, and before graduate school he worked as a research professional at the University of Chicago.
Matteo's research spans behavioral economics, household finance, and real estate, with a focus on belief formation and its role in economic decision-making. He uses large-scale administrative data, applied microeconometric methods, surveys, and online experiments to study how households form, update, and act on beliefs in complex markets and how they make key life-cycle decisions.
