Dr. Juergen Rahmel holds a PhD in computer science (Artificial Intelligence, Neural Networks) and an MBA in International Management. He started his career with Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt, Germany, and has worked in various IT management positions of different banks. Past roles include being Head of IT for HSBC Germany, Research Director AI for the HSBC-ASTRI Lab in HK and Chief Digital Officer for HSBC Germany. He currently serves as Director AI Applied Research for HSBC.
Juergen is an Adjunct Professor at HK University of Science and Technology and a part-time lecturer at the University of Hong Kong. His topics stretch from Securities Transaction Banking and eFinancial Services to Banking in Web 3.0 and Generative AI for Financial Services.
