Kenneth D. West is the Ragnar Frisch and John D. MacArthur Professor of Economics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. West taught at Princeton University from 1983 to 1988 before joining the University of Wisconsin in 1988.
West has held visiting scholar positions at several central banks and at several branches of the US Federal Reserve System. He is currently coeditor of the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking and previously served as coeditor of the American Economic Review. West has published widely in the fields of macroeconomics, finance, international economics, and econometrics. His honors include the John M. Stauffer National Fellowship in Public Policy at the Hoover Institution, the Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship, and the Abe Fellowship. He is also a fellow of the Econometric Society.
