In-Person Program Information

Here, you'll find frequently asked questions regarding admissions to our programs.

Please contact us at +1 312.464.8732, or exec.ed@ChicagoBooth.edu if you need assistance.

Q. I don't see an agenda online. What are the start and end times?

A. In general, classes start at 8 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. Monday - Thursday, and start at 8 a.m. and end at Noon on Friday. Some classes begin at Noon. A detailed agenda will be available in the pre-reading materials. Participants will be granted access to pre-reading materials via our online portal approximately 3-4 weeks before the program.

Q. What if I need to leave earlier on Friday to catch a plane?

A. Please consult with the director of the program.

Q. What is the usual class size?

A. Most classes run with 30 to 40 participants.

Q. Do the same faculty teach in the Chicago, London, and Hong Kong programs?

A. Yes. For example, all courses taught in Hong Kong will be taught by Chicago Booth faculty, who will fly to Hong Kong to teach in person, just as they do in London and Chicago. This gives students direct access to teaching by some of the best business school faculty in the world.

Q. Are the programs taught in English?

A. Yes, all program and course materials are in English for the open enrollment programs. We can work with translators for custom programs if required.

Q. I want to arrange some dinner meetings while I'm in town, are there any nights that have group work or long assignments?

A. For most of the programs, group work is scheduled during the day. A few programs have group work in the evening. The pre-read contains articles for the first few nights' assignments. You can read those articles ahead of time and schedule any meetings the first few evenings.

Q. Is there any work I have to do before the program starts?

A. For most of the programs, there are articles to be read before the program starts. These articles will be available about four to five weeks prior to the program start date.

Q. Do I receive any credit for attending a program?

A. We offer only nondegree programs. Certificates stating that the participants completed the program are given out at the end of the program. The exceptions are the programs CPWA, CIMA and PLP. CPWA and CIMA has a certification process; consult the program's site for more details. PLP participants are eligible for Continuing Medical Education credits (CME).

Q. What happens once I complete the program?

A. When you successfully complete the program, you will receive a certificate of completion, a digital badge credential that you can share among your social networks, access to the Executive Education private LinkedIn group, and a subscription to the Chicago Booth Review—the official publication of the business school.

Q. Will there be any homework assigned?

A. For most programs, homework would be reading articles to prepare for the next day; you should anticipate 1-2 hours of reading per evening.

Q. What is the dress code?

A. The dress code is business casual.

Q. Are GRE and GMAT scores required?

We do not require GRE or GMAT scores.

Q. Is an entrance exam required?

No, we do not require an entrance exam. Most of our courses are open enrollment, meaning after you submit the registration form you are enrolled in the course. For application programs, you must complete the application form, and you will receive a response from the admissions committee.

Q. What are the admission requirements

Admissions requirements vary by program; the “Who Should Attend” section on each program page will give you a clear idea of who is right for each program.

Q. When is the deadline for registrations?

There is no definite deadline, but we recommend that you register at least five weeks in advance of the program start date; around this time, we will make pre-reading materials available to participants. You will have ample time to prepare for the class and to reserve your preferred accommodations.

Q. Do you accept Purchase Orders?

A. We accept purchase orders; there is a space to put the purchase order number on the online registration form.

Q. The price of the program on the brochure I have is different from the one listed online. Which is correct?

A. The price on the website is most current, as the website is frequently updated.

Q. When is payment due?

A. Payment is due prior to program commencement. We accept several payment methods: check, wire transfer/ACH, or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). Credit card payments for Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover may be made online in the U.S. at the time of registration.
When you register, you will receive a confirmation and link to an invoice via email.

Q. Something came up, and I am needed in the office. I would like to postpone my attendance. What are my options?

A. All notification of cancellations, transfers, deferrals and substitutions must be sent in writing to Chicago Booth Executive Education.
