Jeanne C. Marsh (Speaker)
Dean and George Herbert Jones Distinguished Service Professor, School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago

Professor Marsh joined the University of Chicago faculty in 1978 and held appointments in both the School of Social Service Administration and the Committee on Public Policy Studies. She has served as Dean of SSA from 1988 to 1998 and from 2005 to the present. She has also served as Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics and at Clare Hall, Cambridge University. Professor Marsh has published broadly on issues of substance abuse, social service provision for women and children, and evaluation of social work interventions.

Steven Shevell (Speaker)
Professor of Psychology and Ophthalmology & Visual Science, Computational Neuroscience at the University of Chicago

Professor Shevell received an A.B. in Psychology and M.S. in Engineering from Stanford University in 1973; an M.A. in statistics from the University of Michigan in 1975; and a Ph.D. in Psychology (mathematical psychology area) from the University of Michigan in 1977. He currently serves as chair of the Psychology Department’s graduate program in Integrative Neuroscience.
