Event Details

In just one day, Serve-a-Thon volunteers transform schools into wonderful, vibrant places to learn and grow. Serve-a-Thon volunteers will: • Add fresh coats of paint to classrooms, transforming bland spaces into vibrant ones. • Organize libraries to provide environments conducive to learning. • Transform indoor and outdoor spaces with bright, colorful murals. • Paint bright, colorful line games on playgrounds to encourage activity. • Plant flowers and create landscapes to beautify the schools. These tasks may seem simple, but 30,000 Chicago students are directly impacted by the work done on this one day. IS THIS EVENT FAMILY-FRIENDLY? Yes, however, Chicago Cares has given us the following requirements: • Due to safety concerns, no children under the age of 12 will be allowed to participate. • At least one adult must accompany each child under the age of 18. If your family can meet these requirements, please join us for what is sure to be a rewarding family experience.

Cost

A $30 registration donation is required to participate. This donation covers the basic cost of the event per person and is not refundable. In addition, a box lunch can be ordered when registering on the Chicago Cares website. The price of this optional box lunch is $10. Volunteers may also bring their own bag lunches. Volunteers will not be permitted to leave the service site for lunch or have lunch delivered to service sites.
