Join the Chicago Economics Society, the Becker Friedman Institute for Research in Economics, and the University Club of Washington DC for a presentation by Lars Peter Hansen, a winner of the 2013 Nobel Prize in Economics. Professor Hansen has dedicated his career to exploring such questions as: How do investors, consumers, and enterprises cope with uncertainty about the economic future? How do risks and uncertainty in the financial sector influence the economy as a whole? He will discuss the foundations of his prize-winning work and current research, sharing his views on how better models to measure risk and uncertainty are essential for financial market oversight, fiscal policy, and the global economy.
