Please join us for a panel discussion featuring two distinguished alumni: Edward Dawson, MBA'68, Chairman & CEO, Capital Alliance and Helmuth Ludwig, MBA'90, Chief Executive Officer, Siemens Industry Sector. We'll ask Ed and Helmuth about how they and other senior executives identify & nurture talent. We will also ask them for tips and ideas on how candidates can get noticed by executives and advance in their careers.

Edward Dawson (Speaker) '68
Chairman and CEO, Capital Alliance

In his thirty-year tenure as Chairman and CEO of Capital Alliance, Ed Dawson has been internationally hailed as one of the premier negotiators in the world, twice earning the title "Deal Maker of the Year" by M&A International. The author of four books and a contributor to Business Week, Ed oversees all of the firm's transactions, bringing unmatched negotiating experience to the role of "hands on" manager. Prior to Capital Alliance, Ed contributed to the development and growth of several Texas Instruments business lines, where he helped to design and implement a number of strategic business plans for electronic products over a nine-year career. Previous to TI, Ed worked in Marketing for IBM, Computer Analysis at Continental Illinois Bank, and Engineering at Whirlpool.

Ed earned his BS from Carnegie Mellon University and his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Helmuth Ludwig (Speaker) '90
CEO, Siemens Industry Sector in North America

Dr. Helmuth Ludwig has been the CEO of Siemens Industry Sector in North America since October 2011. Dr. Ludwig is responsible for all business activity and executive management of the Siemens Industry Sector business in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Central America. In his 20 years with Siemens, Dr. Ludwig has held a broad range of strategic leadership positions. He serves as Trustee of Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation, Inc. He served as President of the Spanish-German Executive Committee of Rotary International, was the Founding President of the first Rotary Club in Central Asia, and a Member of the Board of Trustees for the Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics and Strategic Research (KIMEP) among numerous other activities.

Dr. Ludwig holds a Master's Degree ("Diplom") in Industrial Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany; a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago; and a Ph.D in Political Science from the Christian-Albrechts-University in Kiel, Germany.
