Event Details

Join Philadelphia area business school alumni for a conversation with Mark Broadie, Carson Family Professor of Business and Vice Dean for Curriculum and Instruction at Columbia Business School. Professor Broadie is a renowned expert in quantitative finance and sports analytics. In addition to providing a brief update on the School, he will discuss his work with the PGA Tour, PGA Tour golfers and coaches, and his new book, Every Shot Counts: Using the Revolutionary Strokes Gained Approach to Improve Your Golf Performance and Strategy. His "strokes gained" putting metric has been recently adopted by the PGA Tour and additional metrics are in the works. Find out why traditional golf stats can be misleading and why many long-held assumptions (e.g., "drive for show, putt for dough" ) about the game are false. Learn how "strokes gained" reveals specific stroke saving opportunities and areas to improve scores for both pros and amateurs. This is a "must" event for any golfer!
