Event Details

Whether or not you are considering a career transition, brush up on interviewing and your interpersonal skills for any meeting. Communicating and interacting with an interviewer or co-workers and supervisors is key to success. Brian Reinken, MBA '94, Partner at Egon Zehnder and KC Lam, MBA '01, Executive Vice President at Caris Life Sciences will join us on the judges panel to provide their feedback and commentary for alumni and students sharpening their interview skills.


The Interview Skills Workshop will feature two accompished panelists who will observe two interviews and provide feedback. Two interviewees will go through live mock interviews in front of the audience and will get feedback after each interview from the panelists. The audience will also get an opportunity to ask questions to the panelists after the interview session. There will be networking opportunities before and after the interview sessions as well. 

Cost

Event is free to Alumni, $5 for Non-Alumni who register by March 23, and $10 for Non-Alumni at the door

Speaker Profiles

Brian Reinken (Speaker) '94
Partner, Egon Zehnder

Mr. Reinken is a Partner in the Dallas Office of Egon Zehnder, one of the world's premier retained senior executive search firms. Mr. Reinken most recently served as Managing Partner of the U.S. Practice for five years. His activities include the recruitment of CEOs and Directors for corporate boards across industries and he is a core member of the firm's Global Consumer Practice, with a focus on retail, e-commerce and consumer technology. Prior to joining Egon Zehnder, Mr. Reinken was Director for Compaq.com with Compaq Computer Corporation. While with Compaq, Mr. Reinken also served as a Business Unit General Manager and head of Business Development and Strategy in the Peripherals Division (displays, handheld PCs, printers, storage, multimedia, and memory products). Earlier in his career, he was a Senior Consultant in the Strategy Practice with Gemini Consulting, leading client management teams in the development of retailing strategies and the design and implementation of retail service offerings. He began his career in a variety of finance and marketing roles with Amoco Corporation in Chicago. Mr. Reinken earned his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and his BS in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.

KC Lam (Speaker) '01
Executive Vice President, Caris Life Sciences

Mr Lam leads Caris Life Sciences' business development efforts, pharmaceutical services offering and governmental affairs, as well as oversees the company's legal interests. Mr. Lam has 25 years of experience providing high-level strategic direction regarding partnerships, alliances, mergers and acquisitions, as well as other legal advice to large healthcare companies. Most recently, Mr. Lam held various leadership roles in pharmaceutical business development and strategic alliances for Schering-Plough, including group vice president and associate general counsel of global pharmaceuticals and business development & strategic alliances. Prior to Schering-Plough, Mr. Lam was senior vice president, business development for the medical-surgical unit at McKesson Corporation. Mr. Lam has held business and legal positions at Baxter Healthcare Corporation, including vice president, global business development for the renal division. Mr. Lam holds a BA in history from Carleton College, a JD from Cornell University and a MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
