Event Details

Mr. Najarian will give attendees a brief history of what it was like to be a professional floor trader at Chicago Board Options Exchange and the evolution of the current state of online trading. He'll also discuss his proprietary trading tool he's created to find unusual options activity in the marketplace. Jon will give attendees some examples of how he's currently trading the markets and then will open up for a short Q&A period.

Mr. Saez will be speaking on a number of topics including the major sources of price uncertainty in the world, the paradigms of option pricing that are at risk, the effect new risk management products are having on pricing, and the dangers of assuming market liquidity is a limitless commodity.

Jon Najarian & Carlos Saez (Speaker)

Jon 'DR. J' Najarian is the co-founder of optionMONSTER® and co-lead analyst for the InsideOptions™ trade idea alert systems. He spent the first 29 years of his trading career trading in and around the pits of the Chicago exchanges. Jon is a frequent contributor to CNBC, the Wall Street Journal, and other prominent financial media organizations. Mr. Najarian also co-developed the patented trading algorithm the Heat Seeker®, used to detect unusual trading activity.

Carlos Saez joined Spot Trading, LLC in 2005 and has served as Chief Investment Officer since 2009. Carlos has over twelve years of proprietary trading experience. He is responsible for Trading, Financial Engineering, and Equity Research. In 2008, Carlos was Director of Trading at Spot overseeing Volatility Trading and Equity Research. Prior to assuming management roles, Carlos was a senior trader at Spot from 2005 to 2008. Prior to joining Spot, Carlos was an equity options specialist on the floor of the CBOE with Toronto Dominion Bank from 2002 to 2004 and Stafford Trading from 2000 to 2002. Carlos holds a Civil Engineering degree from Georgia Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. in Analytic Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
