Event Details

Join us at the Rothman, '77 London Campus on 2 December 2024 for a lifelong learning workshop exclusively designed for Chicago Booth alumni and supported by Kearney's endowment fund.

This back to the classroom experience will be led by Jean-Pierre Dubê, James M. Kilts Distinguished Service Professor of Marketing and Charles E. Merrill Faculty Scholar at Chicago Booth & Rothman Faculty in Residence in London for Autumn Quarter 2024.

The Future of the CMO – Marketing and the future of the CMO has found itself at a cross-road in recent years. Even though most CEOs recognize that marketing is one of the key levers for growth, they don't trust their CMOs. CFOs are even more negative about their CMOS. The result is that CMO tenure rates have been shrinking at an alarming rate and some companies are deprecating the role entirely, shifting marketing from managing a P&L to a support role. However, with the deluge of data and analytics, marketing needs strong leadership to harness growth. The Chicago Booth Approach to marketing encapsulates the factors required to be a successful CMO and for marketing to be more accountable. Prof. Dubé will demonstrate these points through the lens of advertising investments and making them more accountable to the CFO.

We will provide some pre-work to registrants ahead of the workshop and encourage you to spend some time on the Chicago Booth Review website to reflect on your questions and discussion prompts for this interactive workshop.

Continue your lifelong learning journey with this exclusive experience and strengthen your Booth community by learning together with fellow alumni.

Back to Booth is supported by the Fred G. Steingraber/Kearney Endowment. The endowment supports lifelong learning among Chicago Booth alumni.
