Michelle Zancarini-Fournel is Professor Emerita at University Claude Bernard-Lyon-I and a specialist in French contemporary history with a focus on the working class. She was co-founder of the journal Clio, Femmes, Genre, Histoire, which focuses on the history of women and gender. Her published works include L'Histoire des femmes en France XIXe-XXe siècle (PUR, 2005), Le Moment 68, une histoire contestée, (Seuil, 2008), Les Luttes et les rêves. Une histoire populaire de la France de 1685 à nos jours (Zones / La Découverte, 2016), and more recently Une histoire nationale est-elle possible ? (Presses universitaires de Bordeaux et de Pau, 2018). She also co-edited with Philippe Artières 68 une histoire collective (Paris, La Découverte, 2008).
