Have you ever made a bad decision? A really bad one? We all have. Some of us hired terrible employees, or teamed up with the wrong co-founder. Some of us stayed in a bad job for far too long, or quit one way too early. Hopefully, we all learned a lot from these decisions.

Event Details

On the afternoon of 6 July, we're going to make a lot of bad decisions. Some really bad ones. And we will definitely learn a lot from our mistakes. Luckily, this time we'll be in a safer environment: playing in a poker tournament with fellow UChicago alumni and their guests. If you've never played poker before, don't worry as we will teach you to learn how to play No-limit Texas Hold'em Poker during the session.

Balazs Fogoly, Chief Play Officer of Ember Associates, will facilitate his signature decision-making training session using poker.

Why poker do you ask? Because it's fun. And poker is very similar to business: we have to make a lot of quick decisions under pressure, with limited information, managing scarce resources. And we have to constantly adapt our strategy to the ever changing environment shaped by our decisions, our competitors' actions, and some luck.
