Brazil is facing challenging times. So we decided to dedicate those events to discuss a few of those challenges with our colleagues in a powerful thinking forum honoring Booth tradition. We expect to have open discussions with our colleagues and selected guests.

On this first event we are thrilled to have Pedro Faria, BRF's Global CEO and Booth 2002' and Ricardo Rittes, Ambev's CFO and Booth 2004' to guide our discussion on the main challenges Brazilian Companies face on their internationalization processes.

Pedro Faria is the Global CEO of BRF Brasil Foods, major brazilian Food Company. Pedro joined BRF in Sept 2013. Before BRF, Pedro joined Tarpon in June 2003 and was a Managing Partner and member of Tarpon's Investment Committee. He served as Tarpon's CEO from December 2012 to August 2013, and previously was responsible for starting Tarpon's private equity area. He served on the board of Arezzo, BRF S.A. Cia Acqua; and AGV Holding S.A. Pedro was the CFO and IR Officer of BrasilAgro from December 2007 to December 2009, having lead the company from its inception to its IPO. Prior to joining Tarpon, he was a Managing Director at Pátria Investimentos. He also worked for Chase Manhattan Bank and Banco Patrimônio/Salomon Brothers. Pedro holds a degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), in São Paulo, and is a Booth Chicago Full Time MBA Graduate Class of 2002. He is also a member of the global advisory board of the Chicago Booth School of Business

Ricardo Rittes is the CFO of Ambev, Brazil's major beverage company.He joined the company on 2005 as Treasurer Manager for ABI and had a stellar career within the company. Among some operations led by him were InBev's US$54.8 billion acquisition facilities for the Anheuser-Busch combination (US$45 billion senior facility and US$9.8 billion bridge to equity capital markets) that resulted in the creation of Anheuser-Busch InBev. Ricardo also led over US$27 billion in 29 debt capital market transactions (EUR, USD, CAD, BRL and GBP) from January 2009 to January 2011.
Before joining Ambev, Mr. Rittes worked for Advent International, one of the lead Global Private Equity firms and also held positions as an Investment Banker on Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette and Banco Garantia Credit Suisse First Boston.
Mr. Rittes holds a degree in production engineering from Universidade Politécnica de São Paulo and is a Booth Chicago Full Time MBA Graduate Class of 2004.
