Thomas Hense (Speaker) '93
Group Chief Investment Officer, Fidelity

Thomas Hense '93 is a senior vice president and group chief investment officer for Fidelity Asset Management. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing and other financial products and services to more than 20 million individuals, institutions and financial intermediaries.

Mr. Hense heads the High Income division and acts as chief investment officer for the Small Cap team, the Value team and the Emerging-Markets Debt team. Mr. Hense assumed his current position in July 2008 and is part of the Equity Management team within the Equity division of Fidelity Asset Management. Mr. Hense joined Fidelity in 1993 as an analyst in the High Income group and became director of High Income Research in 1999. He joined the Equity group in 2000 and in December of that same year became co-director of equity research. In 2003, Mr. Hense joined the Institutional Equity group with primary portfolio management responsibility for the Small Cap Core discipline through June 2008. From March 2006 until May 2008, he managed Fidelity Small Cap Value Fund and Fidelity Advisor Small Cap Value Fund as a portfolio manager. Mr. Hense earned a bachelor of arts degree in business from the University of St. Thomas in 1986 and an MBA from the University of Chicago in 1993.
