Come meet us for a night of soccer, beer, networking and some dirty tackles with our special guest Sebastian Sobczak, Booth '04.

During half-time of the USA-Ghana game Sebastian will share his perspective on the state of soccer in the USA, will explain in a simple 3-part formula how the United States can win the World Cup (not this one!) and, of course, give his prediction for Brazil 2014.

Whether you just want to watch the game around a drink with fellow alumni, or learn more about the exciting sport of soccer from a recognized expert in the field, this is an event that is not to be missed.

Sebastian Sobczak (Speaker)
Founder, Golazo Soccer

Sebastian Sobczak is a passionate soccer player and enthusiast - he played for the Dallas Texans '77, at Davidson College, a NCAA Division I Program, as well as many national and regional competitions.

He is the founder and president of Golazo Soccer, the Rio Grande Valley's first and only World-Class indoor & outdoor soccer facilities and community infrastructure project. Golazo provides children, adults, amateurs and professional soccer players with year-round world-class facilities, training and play, including seasonal league and tournament play in order to build skill levels, provide healthy competition and give guidance that will enhance individual character as well as skills in an air conditioned, clean and fun environment.

Sebastian also founded BeautifulGoal.Org, a charitable organization that is creating best-in-class soccer-related infrastructure, coaching and opportunities of higher-learning for economically disadvantaged youth in the southern United States. BeautifulGoal.Org runs the recreational programs for various municipalities in the border areas of Texas. The organization is affiliated with the charity groups inside Google, Inc., Blackstone L.P., Jackson Hewitt, Lowe's and numerous others.

He went to Columbia University and obtained his MBA from Chicago Booth in '04. He worked at Azure Capital Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm in Palo Alto, CA and Wexford Capital in Greenwich, CT, before founding his own funds, Evacuation Group, which have seed investments in Liquid LED Technologies/Futurrex, Inc., Golazo LP and, most recently, Evacuation Complete LLC, a global payments & media platform.
