We invite you to a wine tasting and an opportunity to meet with friends and make new acquaintances. Discover the secrets of champagne, learn to put the right words to describe the sensorial experience while improving your oenological knowledge, and have some fun.

Talk about wine, learn about wine a different way and discover one of the creations of our alum, Alexandre Penet, '09 (EXP-14)!

Vino Cado, the wine experts for the evening, will be taking us through the tasting and teaching us all about the different types of wine.

What the evening consists of:

  • Blind tasting of 4 well known champagnes ( for example, Bollinger, Taittinger, Deutz, etc., including Maison Penet )
  • Smoked trout, savoury snacks and spreads with bread in perfect harmony to accompany your Champagne tasting experience

Learning about the major notions linked with Champagne: How is Champagne a wine ? How is it made? What is the difference between a millésimé, a brut, and an extra brut ? why is champagne called the wine of the devil? How should one appreciate champagne and how can you tell the difference between grand champagnes in a blind taste test ? how to recognize a champagne? How to recognize a champagne during a blind taste test? And learning that a blanc de blancs is not a painting by Malevitch ....
