Event Details

The evening at Paramount Studios event kicks off with a networking reception outside of the Paramount Theatre at Paramount Studios. Enjoy refreshments and food from some of LA's best taco and burger trucks near the Forrest Gump bench and the original Paramount main gate while connecting with fellow Chicago Booth alums.

We then move inside the Theatre for a fireside chat with Paramount Studios executive Michael Armstrong (Chicago Booth class of 2002) to learn about Michael's career and outlook for the entertainment industry.

We complete the evening with a screening of Paramount's latest release Rocketman, an epic musical fantasy about the uncensored human story of Sir Elton John's breakthrough years, directed by Dexter Fletcher and starring Taron Egerton as Elton John.

6:00–7:00 Optional Studio Tours (Running concurrently with the networking hour, there will be 4 tours total, two departing at 6 pm and another two at 6:30 pm. Limited to 28 people, first come first served)

Michael Armstrong (Speaker) '02
Executive VP of Worldwide TV Licensing and Operations, Paramount Studios

Michael Armstrong is the Executive VP of Worldwide TV Licensing and Operations at Paramount Studios. His responsibilities include leading third-party series distribution efforts with studio partners, managing — in partnership with Paramount Television — distribution efforts on local-language productions, and overseeing Paramount's digital monetization team. He also works closely with Viacom International Studios as it explores the creation of an unwired network for the distribution of series content to international partners.

Armstrong, who joined Viacom in 1998, most recently served as executive VP and general manager of BET Networks. Previously, he served as Executive VP and general manager, revenue and emerging brands for Viacom International Media Networks and Senior VP and general manager of BET International prior to that. During his tenure at Viacom, he led the creation and launch of the Paramount Channel, which is now available in 116 countries and reaches 160 million subscribers outside the U.S.
