Progress and Impact of the Commitments to Financial Regulatory Reform.

The 2007-2010 crisis has led to widespread calls for changes in the regulatory system.
At the peak of the crisis, the Group of Twenty (G20) has committed to an unprecedented overhaul of the financial regulatory framework.

The Dodd-Frank Act signed off by Obama in 2010 aims to promote stability, transparency, and accountability in the financial system.
The European Union has adopted numerous proposals since 2010, including recently a Banking Union, to restore the health and stability of the financial sector.
A robust framework including new or revised Directives on securities markets organization, market abuses, derivatives clearing, hedge funds supervisions...should be in place by 2014.
