These and for sure more questions and dilemmas will be shared with you by Robert Zdunczyk, '98 (EXP-3), who has been exploring Africa since 1989. That year just before the Solidarity trade unions in Poland initiated dismantling of the Soviet Block in Eastern Europe, still as a student of Warsaw School of Economics he set off for 10 months overland trip from Poland passing on the way 20 African countries to reach Nairobi in Kenya. That trip sparked his lifetime interest in Africa.
Being an expert in Effective Management and Development, after 16 years with Andersen, Robert quit the corporate life in 2006 and since that time he got involved among others in various development and commercial activities in Africa, mostly in the region of East Africa (Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda).
Together with his wife Gonia, he set up an NGO called Poland-East Africa Economic Foundation in 2006 and completed over 30 development projects of various size and nature.
Robert and his wife spend almost 50% of the year in Africa (their base is Moshi in Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania) and while in Poland or other places in Europe, on top of freelance consulting activities, they also get engaged in various educational ventures promoting development of real and practical knowledge of Africa.
